Iris was the greek goddess of rainbows and a messenger from the gods. Iris personified the colours and light that appeared after a storm, and flowers sprouted wherever she stepped. Painted live in a Kyoto Temple garden during my artist residency, these irises personified their regal histories, singing their colours and celebrating the light surrounding them.
