I revel in watching the buds form, as winter gets bullied away by light and new life--and torrential rains, and hailstones, and winds--and an occasional frost...
...that's when...
Tulips and azaleas trumpet the upcoming arrivals of the big beautiful peonies and irises just around the calendar's bend. That's when I plant my sunflower seeds. Every year I'm in awe of how such a tiny seed, a grain of hope, can turn into the strongest most beautiful stalk of flowers in the garden, feeding birds, hope, courage, and resilience along the way--despite those torrential rains, winds, frosts and hailbombs. (And much like the populations facing constant bombs and threats, they continue to stand together strong, courageous, and maintain optimism by following the light.)
